AEW’s Elite Jokingly Admit WWE’s Bloodline Story Is Better 2023
Wrestling fans may have differing opinions on AEW’s The Elite, but it cannot be denied that the group has a sense of humor toward their detractors. Matt Jackson began yesterday’s episode of “Being The Elite” by detailing the plot between “Hangman” Adam Page and The Elite to recent ally Konosuke Takeshita, while Takeshita stared ahead, obviously bored.
Nick Jackson then told Takeshita their narrative was the best in professional wrestling history.
Takeshita responded, “It’s okay,” as she informed Matt that his English was not very good. “Bloodline, much better.” Takeshita wasn’t the only one who favored the Bloodline plotline over The Elite’s activities. Nick approached Kenny Omega near the conclusion of the episode to relay Takeshita’s opinion that there is a better story unfolding in wrestling today.
“The Bloodline, right?” Omega inquired. “Of sure. We are merely a poor imitation anyway… I believe what they say. I do not comprehend our actions.” In addition, Omega joked that they are still the second or third greatest storyline in wrestling.
The plot that Matt Jackson was describing — the saga documenting the on-again, off-again friendship between Page and The Elite — has been ongoing for years, and in some ways even predates the existence of AEW. Similarly, Roman Reigns gradually assembled The Bloodline in 2020 and 2021, but the story’s origins can be traced back to well before Reigns’ tenure in The Shield, or even to the 1980s if you include Paul Heyman’s association with the Samoan SWAT Team.
Current storylines in both AEW and WWE feature some of the biggest personalities from each organization, reference past relationships and wrestling history, and can be argued to be the top rivalries in both organizations.
