Superb Bay Area artists collaborate for Napa Burt Bacharach homage 2023
On April 6 at the Blue Note Napa, acclaimed soprano Kellie Fuller and the Mike Greensill Trio will present “Close to You: The Songs of Burt Bacharach.”
The playlist will feature some of the most well-known songs by the great composer, whose compositions have been sung by celebrity artists including Dionne Warwick, Dusty Springfield, Aretha Franklin, and Marilyn McCoo.
Great Bay Area artists join for a Burt Bacharach tribute in Napa.
Bacharach, who passed away earlier this year at the age of 94, penned several chart-topping songs, such as “This Guy’s in Love with You,” “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head,” “(They Want to Be) Near to You,” and “That’s What Friends Are For.” Over his career, he won six Grammys, three Oscars, and an Emmy.
Fuller, a vocalist of the highest caliber who excels at jazz, blues, R&B, and American Songbook standards, is certain to perform admirably with any Bacharach songs that make it into the performance.
She will once again be joined by the brilliant pianist Greensill, who will be leading a trio with the outstanding bassist Ruth Davies and the talented drummer Jack Dorsey.
The Blue Note Napa, a small jazz club and restaurant that seats 180 people and is housed on the lower level of the historic Napa Valley Opera House, should be an ideal venue for this show.
The performance begins at 7 p.m. and tickets range from $20 to $30;
