After complaints about Fargo concert, promoter cancels show with singer accused of sexual assault 2023
Two days after promoting a Fargo concert featuring Har Mar Superstar, who has been accused of sexual assault, Jade Presentations canceled the event.
The company’s president and founder, Jade Nielsen, announced the cancellation on Facebook.
“I regret scheduling the Har Mar performance in error and accept it unreservedly. I hear you, I respect you, and I sincerely apologize. I do not wish to add to your or our community’s suffering. I pledge to improve as we proceed. I apologize to my employees, partners, and all customers. I will endeavor to rectify the situation. Today, this event has been canceled. Your voice will always be heard and is always welcome.”
The performance was announced at noon on Monday and quickly received criticism from individuals opposed to providing space to a guy who was accused of sexual assault by multiple women in Minneapolis in 2021.
Following the claims, the singer’s performances were canceled, and his star on the First Avenue wall in Minneapolis was painted over. Also, he was expelled from the ownership group of Harold’s on Main in Moorhead.
According to the venue’s Facebook page, an event in Mankato, Minnesota, which was also advertised on Monday was canceled shortly thereafter “due to unforeseen circumstances.”
The cancellation of the Fargo concert slated for The Hall at Fargo Brewery was posted late Wednesday afternoon and garnered over 300 likes and over 50 comments in favor within an hour.
