‘The Mandalorian’ answers Grogu’s query with a prequel actor 2023

“The Mandalorian” continues to expand the “Star Wars” world with the exploits of Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu as they battle the remnants of the Empire as the bounty hunter teaches the cute green Force user how to live in the galaxy.

In addition to being attractive, Grogu has attracted followers due of his mystery history. He is the same species as the legendary Yoda (Frank Oz), but neither his origin nor his relationship to the Jedi Master are known to fans.

“The Mandalorian” addresses Grogu’s strange past.

Grogu’s escape from the Jedi temple during the devastating climax of “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith,” when Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) ordered the slaughter of all Jedi in the galaxy, is one of the greatest mysteries that “The Mandalorian” has hinted at over the past two seasons.

With the assistance of a famous actor from the “Star Wars” prequels, “The Mandalorian” has finally solved the mystery of how Grogu managed to escape the massacre. The actor in question is Ahmed Best.

The actor is well recognized for his role as Jar Jar Binks in the “Star Wars” prequel trilogy, however the eccentric extraterrestrial does not appear in “The Mandalorian.”

Instead, Best portrays Kelleran Beq, a brilliant Jedi who rescues Grogu from being gunned down by clone army assailants while escorting him from the Jedi Temple.

Beq loads Grogu into a speeder bike before fleeing additional clones across the skies of Coruscant, finally landing on a platform and escaping aboard a spacecraft probably owned by Padme Amidala’s loyal Naboo troops (Natalie Portman).

The flashback concludes with Grogu staring at the dazzling lights of hyperspace, much as he did in the opening episode of season three of “The Mandalorian” when he observed the Purrgil flying beside him in Din’s ship.

Best portrayed Beq on the children’s game program “Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge,” and he has since been included into the continuing “Star Wars” chronology.

Jar Jar Binks and the inherent silliness of the character had already earned the actor a flood of criticism from “Star Wars” fans.

Given that Beq and Grogu fled, it is highly plausible that Best may return in future episodes of “The Mandalorian.”

We still do not know where the green Jedi spent the remainder of his time between “Revenge of the Sith” and “The Mandalorian,” so there might be many more flashbacks.
