Taylor Swift Dancing to BLACKPINK’s “Pink Venom”: Jisoo’s Best Reaction: “Is This Real Life?” 2023
Try that pink poison! Jisoo finally addressed Taylor Swift’s participation in BLACKPINK’s “Pink Venom” performance at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards in a new interview published on Tuesday (April 18).
“Seeing Taylor Swift, an artist I listened to frequently as a child, dancing to our music… I was like, ‘Is this real life?'” the K-pop star told Teen Vogue while promoting her new solo album ME. “This type of emotion. It was an inspiring and rewarding experience for us.”
The female group’s performance of the lead single from their 2022 album Born Pink marked their U.S. awards show debut. Lisa, a member of Jisoo’s group, won the best K-pop award for her solo single “Lalisa” at the ceremony, besting BTS, Itzy, SEVENTEEN, Stray Kids, and TWICE. (“We were so proud,” says Jisoo of Lisa’s victory.)
The star praised BLACKPINK’s 2022 MTV VMA performance.
Swift has continued to demonstrate her affection for “Pink Venom” by including it on the pre-show playlist prior to each sold-out stop on The Eras Tour.
During the interview, Jisoo revealed that she has not “fully accepted” certain aspects of her global stardom. She stated in her native Korean, “Even now, I’m not particularly well-known.” “When I walk around, no one asks, ‘Are you BLACKPINK’s Jisoo?'” This rarely occurs.”
Jisoo, Rosé, Lisa, and Jennie headlined day 2 of Coachella last weekend, making history as the first South Korean performers to serve as headliners at the Indio, California, festival only four years after their first performance there.
