Riverside Tamale Festival celebrates 10th year 2023
This next weekend, a downtown park will play host to the 10th annual Riverside Tamale Festival to celebrate the event’s milestone.
The event was postponed to September in 2021 and 2022 after it was called off in 2020 due to the widespread coronavirus outbreak.
Music, art, and cuisine will be at White Park.
This year, it will be held in White Park on Saturday, April 29, and will be themed after spring once again. The park located at 3936 Chestnut Street in Riverside will play host to the event, which will take place between the hours of 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. and will feature food, music, and artwork.
According to a news release, the festival is hosted by a non-profit organization called the Spanish Town Heritage Foundation. This foundation is working to conserve the Trujillo Adobe, which is one of the oldest structures in Riverside, and it intends to establish a cultural and educational center.
According to the statement, the earnings from the festival will be used to fund scholarships and cultural programming at the adobe.
