Jenna Bush Hager Was “Worried” She Couldn’t “Save” Her Virginity in 9th Grade 2023
Adolescent confessions! While sharing a story from her adolescent diary with Amy Poehler, Jenna Bush Hager recalled her concerns about losing her virginity.
During the Wednesday, April 26 episode of Today With Hoda & Jenna, 41-year-old Bush Hager admitted, “I was looking at myself in the mirror and hoping I could save my virginity.” “I was just worried in ninth grade that I wouldn’t have the wherewithal to hold it, you know?”
The former Parks and Recreation cast member quipped that Bush Hager’s journals “were like ‘You can do it. You can carry it. Stay strong, you’re almost there!'”
Hoda Kotb and 51-year-old Poehler laughed as the former first daughter shrugged.
The coauthor of Sisters First, who has been married to Henry Hager since 2008, made light of her teenage self by stating, “What if you’re not able to do it?” She did not, however, elaborate on the “truth” regarding when she lost her virginity.
Bush Hager, who shares daughters Mila, 10, and Poppy, 7, and son Hal, 3, with her 44-year-old husband, admitted: “It was an embarrassing post to look back at.”
Poehler disclosed that she has “special things in a box that says ‘throw away'” so that her family won’t rummage through it after she’s “gone.” (The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning producer shares 14-year-old son Archie and 12-year-old son Abel with ex-husband Will Arnett.)
The comedian also revealed an embarrassing childhood diary entry on her program. Poehler explained, “I think a lot of mine is about relationships, and I think a lot of mine is just, you know, the amount of love I gave to someone who was perhaps not the right person to receive it.”
Bush Hager’s Wednesday remarks are merely the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the anecdotes she has told on air over the years. During a November 2022 episode of Today, the Texas native admitted that she never wears underwear.
The Everything Is Beautiful in Its Time author stated at the time, in defense of her preferences, “I think it creates a more attractive silhouette.” “I also believe it is unnecessary to prepare as much. There are many advantages to it.”
Later, she quipped, “I’m sure my mom [Laura Bush] has never been more proud.”
