Labrinth and Billie Eilish’s Chilling New Song “Never Felt So Alone” 2023
Fans of Euphoria demanded the official release of “Never Felt So Alone,” a song that Labrinth at the time scarcely acknowledged existed. “Whoever said I had a song called ‘never felt soo Alone?'” he questioned on Twitter in 2019, in response to the revelation that the song briefly previewed on the show wasn’t featured on the acclaimed season one soundtrack.
The couple debuted the anticipated single at one of Eilish’s local shows in December.
Labrinth composed the score and soundtrack for both seasons of Euphoria, depicting the menacing presence of Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi) and the internal struggle between Rue (Zendaya) and her addictive desires in ephemeral, frequently atmospheric tracks.
This past year, “Never Felt So Alone” reappeared during season two but was still absent from the accompanying album. Now, the musician has disclosed that the game of waiting was part of the process of getting everything just perfect, which included recruiting Billie Eilish for the official recording.
On her eerie new single, Eilish sings, “I thought you were my new closest friend/Wish I knew better then/Who knew you were just out to get me/My entire world came apart.” The music video for the song will be released on Friday morning.
Regarding Euphoria, Labrinth and Eilish have orbited each other’s circles. Finneas oversaw “Lo Vas a Olvidar,” Eilish’s collaboration with Rosala from the 2021 special episode about Jules (Hunter Schafer), whereas Labrinth typically handles the show’s music. During one of Eilish’s hometown performances at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles in December, Labrinth accompanied Eilish onstage to perform “Never Felt So Alone” and “Mount Everest.”
